Champagne, sunshine and laughter were the order of the day for Michaela's fabulous 50th birthday party put together by our very own in house planner Lotte Travers on the south side of the river Thames. The weather was perfect for the initial drinks reception held on the terraced walkway. Outside the venue we laid black carpeting, placed external uplighting against the walls and installed two stunning flambeaux lanterns to add to the "wow" factor as the sun started to set. As the champagne continued to flow, guests proceeded to move inside for a delicious sit-down supper complemented by live vocal entertainment provided by one of London's finest soul singers for weddings and parties. Guests found their seats via a mirrored seating plan. For the dining area, we installed uplighting and pin spots for the tables and a surround-sound system for the music and speeches.
The food was savoured, the drinks flowed and the speeches completed: it was time to party! The lights were lowered, the sound increased and the DJ took to the decks to drop tune after tune. As per the birthday girl's request, the music had a classic 70s and 80s sound, a dance and disco feel with the occasional contemporary floor filler thrown in to keep both young and old in the groove. The classic black and white dance floor, giant light-up '50', staging and a nightclub lighting system came into its own as the evening progressed, giving a real club / party feel. Finishing off with calls for one more tune is always a good sign of a good party. Find out more about event production in London.
