A World of Sequins – Bespoke DJ Booths by Matt Maurice Event Production (To add that extra special touch)

I started my journey with the Matt Maurice team in 2019, with a passion for music and a desire to work in the events industry since I was a teen. My favourite part of working for the company is helping people bring the party of their dreams to life and create a night they’ll never forget.
We pride ourselves as experts in the event music, entertainment and production industry, with over 20 years of experience. Our London DJs and artists have played at a huge variety of high-end society events, private parties, and exceptional venues, working alongside private clients as well as some of the best event planners in the industry. We offer a huge selection of in-house equipment, including sound, lighting, dance floors, audio-visual, draping, carpet, set builds, just to name a few. The birth of the sequin booth! How it started…
We were super excited when we received an enquiry to be part of this amazing New Year’s Eve event at the super stylish, atmospheric Mayfair restaurant, Amazonico.
The brief was to deliver a Studio 54, jungle fever themed evening for the venue which we couldn’t wait to start exploring. We were asked to make a bespoke DJ booth to fit with the theme, as well as supply neon signs, an array of mirror balls, plus sound and lighting to fill 3 areas of the restaurant, including the restaurant’s underwater themed club downstairs.
Getting Creative
At the time, my colleague Lotte was watching Strictly Come Dancing one evening when she got the inspiration from the amazing sequined panels that they had on their set build.
From that, we put a mood board together for Amazonico and sent it off for approval. They loved our ideas and from there we began planning for the big night.
We sourced and purchased the sequined panels to fit in with the Studio 54 theme and once they arrived, the guys from our production team got to work with the custom sequin booth which featured a neon ‘disco’ sign in the centre.

And here is the finished product! We are so pleased with the result, as were Amazonico and we can’t wait to get creative with more upcoming themed events produced in London.
